Hi I'm Madi. This has absolutely nothing to do with yarn. It has a lot to do with human rights, cute animals, and funny shit.

Dear EMOS_ARE_A_JOKE,
1. Cool username btw. Really sets the informative tone of this super cool iFunny post.
2. I hate to inform you of this, but “Tumblr Feminists” isn’t a legitimate categorization of people. If it were, then you’d be classified with “Teenaged Bigots of iFunny”.
3. No one ever said that you couldn’t appreciate female sexuality in a respectful way. But when women express theirselves in a sexual way, they’re sluts. Feminism is a means of looking out for one another, and by calling some men out for objectification, we’re just saving each other from the slut shame.
Here to help enlighten you,
Tumblr Feminists

1. You don’t judge a picture by its creator, you judge it by what the picture is.

2. Tumblr feminist is a legitimate characterization of people because it’s referring to the feminists on tumblr. What else is it supposed to say? “dear feminists?”

3. There are so many people on this website that consider even the tiniest things “objectification of women”. It’s mainly feminists, but that’s only part of the point of this picture. If you hadn’t already noticed, the majority of people who slut shame are women. They are more likely to talk about other women, just like men are more likely to talk about other men. Feminism has done nothing good for society. In the 1950’s, feminism accomplished something because it had a common goal : to give women the right to vote, which had been given to them. Now feminism has no goal, it’s just a bunch of people blaming all their problems on men. Feminists have pulled fire alarms on men’s rights meetings, fought against making women’s jail sentences the same as a man’s, shut down male suicide hotlines, made sexual assault and domestic violence a women’s issue, and much more. Until feminism accomplishes at least 1 good thing, me and many other people will never want to be a part of it.

1. If you want no part of it, why are you rebutting my post? By imposing your disapproval of Tumblr feminists, on Tumblr to a feminist, how are you any better than us..?
2. Feminism is a male issue too. If I can help enlighten you to this do let me know, love.

If I don’t want to be part of Nazism, is it wrong if I tell them what they are doing is wrong? No, it’s not, because they think what they are doing is good, when everyone else knows that’s not true.

I rebutted your post because I didn’t agree with what you said about the picture. I also wanted to show you that feminism isn’t this rainbow waterfall of peace and gender equality that you and many other feminists think it is.

Feminism is NOT a male issue. A movement where the definition of it is:

the advocacy of women’s rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men.”

is not a movement that is about men. It has nothing to do with men, other than being equal to them. Do you have any idea how badly feminists treat men? And before you say “Not all feminists are like that, those people aren’t REAL FEMINISTS”, I just want to say that it doesn’t matter if not all feminists are like that, what matters is what they’re doing in the name of Feminism. They treat men like scum of the earth, and expect them to support their movement or they’re “sexist, misogynistic pigs that hate feminists because they’re women”. When will you so called “good feminists” realize that the reason so many people hate your movement is because the people that are doing bad things in its name are recognized by the public / media. While you “good” feminists are just on the computer, telling people to “educate themselves about the definition of the movement”. People don’t judge movements by what they’re trying to achieve, they judge it by what the people equated with the movement are doing to achieve whatever that they’re trying to achieve. It’s not that hard to understand.

Oh! It’s the word your scared of. The curse word that starts with an f and doesn’t end in an -uck. I’m sorry that somewhere you learned to associate feminism with hatred and abuse of men, but that is not the case I can assure you. See, feminism, in addition to the definition you provided, is the idea that stereotypically feminine and masculine qualities should not belong to one binary sex. Simply put, women can be strong, sure; but men can also have an emotional spectrum. I, along with the vast majority of other feminists, don’t believe that men are incompetent, obsolete, or unnecessary. I’m fighting your fight for you, whether you’d like me to or not, solely because I want a better society for each of us. I want to walk into a room without my body, or outfit, or hair being the first thing people take note of. I want you to be able to cry publicly without being a “pussy”. I want to walk down a street at night without my keys between my knuckles to make sure I get home safely. And if you should be the victim I hope neither you nor I am that night, I don’t want you to be shamed into silence. I don’t see what could be so radical about that.

I refuse to be part of feminism because of all the bad things that it has done for society. It has done almost nothing good other than give women the right to vote. That’s it.

Feminism isn’t going to change those things you specified in your post. Feminism will never prevent sexual assault / rape, feminism will never change the way people look at men and women, feminism will never change how people view male emotions vs female emotions. I’m sorry if I sound harsh but it’s true. In order to accomplish the things you specified, feminism is going to have to change the way people think, which is not going to happen because a couple of women said so. Who knows, maybe it will change eventually, but I can tell you this, it will not be feminism that does so.

So if you recognize that these are issues, and aren’t attempting to correct them, what are you? I’m a feminist because I see the problems- I suppose that makes you a blind man.

Issues CAN NOT and WILL NOT resolve themselves. Societal evolution requires a society behind it. It sounds as though you support the core beliefs of feminism, because you recognize that the issues exist, but it’s almost as if you downgrade them to ignore them. Rape will exist with or without feminism- but we can work towards a society without it through feminism. Stereotypical gender identities will be imposed on people with or without feminism- but we’re working for a toy store for our children without blue and pink aisles- girls can be superheroes, boys can be nurses. In short, I recognize that feminism isn’t this oasis in a shit storm of a world, but I do see the good in it. Perhaps it’s time you open your eyes.

When you say that you’re “fighting” for these things to go away, I never hear about in the media or it’s never recognized by the public. You know why? Because all the bad feminists are out there actually doing something to make themselves known. They’re actually “fighting” for stuff, but it’s not good. Meanwhile, you say that you and the other “good” feminists are fighting against those things you mentioned in your post. Other than blogging about it on tumblr, which isn’t really doing anything, can you give me some examples of actual “fighting” you guys are doing?

Attending conferences and protests, informing people like yourself…
And what are you doing to fight back, other than posting on Tumblr?
